SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER & PHOTOGRAPHER
Abdel Rahman
I'm a software engineer, and I take photographs. This is where I keep my work, my writing, and the things I'm still trying to understand.
Now · Putting together the first set of work, notes, and photographs to share here.IN FOCUS
A few places to start
A small handful of pieces from across the site.
- 01When the Past Becomes an Architecture ConstraintA reflection on how past production failures shape architecture decisions, why confidence cannot overcome operational fear, and how a phased rollout can turn disagreement into evidence.
- 02Watching the last lightA spontaneous drive to Al Qudra Lakes left us thirty minutes to watch birds and sunset while imagining the child and future ahead of us.
WHAT I DO
What I work on
I'm a senior software engineer with around nine years building systems that have to stay reliable at scale. Most of that work has been in realtime communication, payments, fintech, and e-commerce — designing distributed backends and owning them from the first decision to production.
- Realtime communication (WebRTC, E2EE)
- Distributed systems and backend architecture
- Payments, fintech, and e-commerce
